The Hertie School invites students and young professionals to submit a video essay exploring how transatlantic relations can adapt and endure in a shifting global order and given emerging global challenges.

We encourage submissions that explore:

How should transatlantic relations evolve in response to a changing global order?
The impact of emerging challenges, such as climate change, technological transformation, and geopolitical competition, on the transatlantic partnership
The role of younger generations in shaping the future of transatlantic relations
How can transatlantic institutions adapt to remain relevant and effective?
Personal stories or reflections connecting both sides of the Atlantic

QuantCo Travel Scholarship

Up to €750 for round-trip flights, a 4-night hotel stay (October 8–12, 2026), and exclusive access to QuantCo’s leadership and networking program.

QuantCo is offering up to seven travel scholarships for students at German universities to attend the 2026 German American Conference (GAC) at Harvard Kennedy School in Cambridge, Massachusetts. In addition to travel support, recipients will gain access to an exclusive QuantCo side program featuring distinguished speakers, Harvard and MIT faculty, private dinners, and high-level discussions.

Eligibility:

Applicants must:

Be enrolled at a German university (all degree programs and study years eligible; exceptions may apply for German citizens studying abroad)
Demonstrate top academic performance (approximately top 5% of their cohort or equivalent achievements)
Be eligible to travel to the United States (e.g., ESTA or visa requirements fulfilled)
Have or obtain international travel health insurance
Submit a 1-page resume and academic transcripts (if available) by July 20, 2026

German American Conference Social Fund

New in 2026: For the first time, the German American Conference is launching the GAC Social Fund, creating new scholarship opportunities to make conference participation more accessible.

This year, we expect to award around 20 or more scholarships to talented students and young professionals. As part of our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, we especially encourage applications from individuals from historically underrepresented backgrounds and those who have faced barriers to educational and professional opportunities.

Recipients will be selected through a comprehensive review process that considers merit, potential, financial need, and our commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive conference community.
